Set of 9 Modeling Tools – Clay, Ceramics and Sculpture

This set includes nine modeling tools combining birch wood handles with stainless steel metal parts. Various profiles for shaping clay, working with relief and adding precision to details.

Their compact size makes them easy to hold and use on small surfaces. The handles feature a reddish-brown hue inspired by rosewood, which contrasts with the metal tips.

A set for creating ceramic pieces, sculptures and decorative objects, from initial shaping to the final touches.

INFORMATION

Working with clay requires different techniques depending on the desired shape. Some tools are used to remove material, while others are used to refine contours or define a texture.

This nine-piece set allows you to vary your techniques without being limited to hand-shaping. It is ideal for modeling small sculptures, working with volumes and finishing before firing.

FIRST USE

Start by building the main volumes by hand. Then use the tools to gradually remove material, refine a curve or work on narrower areas.

Adjust the pressure to the consistency of your clay. For certain finishes, slightly firmer clay offers more resistance and allows you to better control the tools' path.

USE & CARE

After each session, remove any clay residue from the tips before it hardens. Carefully clean the metal parts and dry them thoroughly.

Avoid leaving the wooden handles soaking in water. Store the tools in a dry place and handle pointed or sharp ends with care.

♥ IKANE STUDIO TIP

Before working on your piece, try the different tools on a scrap of clay at various levels of moisture. You can compare the marks left on the surface and identify when the clay offers the best resistance for your details.
