White highlighting pencil – Drawing & charcoal
White highlighting pencil – Drawing & charcoal
Light changes everything in a drawing. This white pencil brings out highlights, emphasizes contours and adds depth to shadows.
Particularly effective on black or toned paper, it complements charcoal drawings, portraits, studies of form, and high-contrast sketches.
INFORMATION
Unlike graphite or black charcoal, the white pencil allows you to build up highlights directly on a dark background. The finish varies depending on the texture and color of the paper.
USE & CARE
Work with light strokes to place the initial highlights, then build up areas that require more contrast. Sharpen gradually to preserve the lead.
♥ IKANE STUDIO TIP
On gray paper, first draw the shadows with charcoal, then add the highlights with the white pencil. The paper retains the midtones: a simple way to work with form without covering the entire surface.
