Set of 6 Modeling Tools – Clay, Ceramics and Sculpture

This set includes six modeling tools with wooden handles and metal tips, designed for working with clay, shaping volumes, carving the material and refining the details of a sculpture.

Their different ends allow you to work on surfaces, contours and reliefs. Loop tools, points and shaping tools accompany the different stages of modeling, from the initial forms to the finishing touches.

A compact set for discovering working with clay or completing your studio equipment, whether for making ceramic objects, small sculptures or decorative pieces.

INFORMATION

Modeling involves working a malleable material to give it a shape, modify its volumes or create surface details. While your hands allow you to build the initial forms, tools provide greater precision in hard-to-reach areas.

The tips of this set come in different shapes for carving, removing small amounts of clay, refining contours or working textures.

FEATURES
  • Contents: 6 modeling tools
  • Handles: wood
  • Tips: metal
  • Shapes: points, loop tools and shaping tips of different shapes
  • Use: modeling, sculpture, relief work and finishing
  • Suitable for: clay and un-fired ceramics
FIRST USE

Start by shaping your piece by hand to define the main volumes. Then use the tools to refine the contours, carve certain areas or sharpen the details.

Loop tools allow you to gradually remove material. Points can be used to draw lines, incise a surface or work in narrow areas.

Work with pressure suited to the consistency of the clay. Very wet clay can easily deform, while slightly firmer clay often allows for better control over details.

USE & CARE

The tools can be used to work volumes, carve reliefs, draw patterns or refine certain parts of a sculpture.

After each session, remove clay residue before it dries. Gently clean the tips and avoid leaving the wooden handles soaking in water.

Dry the tools thoroughly before storing them, especially the metal parts. Handle pointed or sharp ends with care.

♥ IKANE STUDIO TIP

To achieve more even reliefs, wait until the clay has slightly lost its moisture before working the details. Test the different tips on a piece of scrap clay: you can observe the marks they produce and choose the one that best suits your piece.
