Set of traditional Chinese paintings
Traditional Chinese Paint Set – 12 colors
This set includes 12 tubes of 12 ml water-based paint for guohua, wash painting, brush painting, and color studies.
The colors can be diluted with water to achieve different levels of transparency and density. They can be used for light washes, more concentrated strokes, or layered once dry.
The behavior of the color depends heavily on the paper: on an absorbent surface like Xuan, it spreads more into the fibers; on a more treated surface, the contours remain sharper.
INFORMATION
A small amount of paint is enough to prepare a wash. Add water gradually to control transparency rather than diluting heavily from the start.
To reinforce an area without completely losing transparency, let the first layer dry, then add a new, more concentrated pass.

USE & CARE
Place a small amount of color on a palette and add water gradually. Preparing several dilutions before painting helps maintain consistent values throughout your session.
Test the color on a scrap of the same paper before the final composition. On highly absorbent paper, reduce the water content if you want to limit spreading.
Close the tubes after use and rinse the brushes with clean water before the paint dries in the fibers.
PAIR WITH
To prepare several colors and dilutions simultaneously, use the 5-well ceramic palette .
For washes, flat areas, and broad strokes, pair them with the set of 4 flat bamboo brushes .
To compare how colors spread based on paper absorbency, use the artisanal Xuan paper .

♥ IKANE STUDIO TIP
Prepare three dilutions of the same color before beginning: light, intermediate, and dense. This allows you to switch between values without constantly adjusting the amount of water in your brush.
