Set of 4 fine calligraphy brushes
This set includes four fine-tipped brushes for calligraphy, ink drawing, and detailed brushwork.
Their narrow shape allows for working on small characters, precise lines, outlines, and elements that require less ink retention than a wash brush.
The brush heads are made of mixed hairs, combining flexibility and firmness to accommodate pressure changes while maintaining a tight point. The handles feature a golden finish, making it easy to distinguish the set from other tools.
Information
These brushes are designed for fine strokes and small formats. They allow for drawing narrow lines, constructing small characters, and adding details to an ink painting.
Their more contained ink retention makes it easier to control the amount of ink deposited compared to a larger brush used for washes or large characters.
Features
Set composition: 4 brushes
Brush head: mixed hair
Use: small characters, fine lines, outlines, and ink details
The exact composition of the different hairs, dimensions, and handle material are not specified by the supplier.
Use & care
Before first use, gradually moisten the brush head with clear water to release the hairs without bending them. Then reshape the tip between your fingers.
Load only the tip of the brush for the finest strokes. To achieve a slightly wider line, gradually increase the pressure without completely flattening the brush head on the paper.
After use, rinse each brush with clear water until no residue remains. Reshape the tip, then let the brush dry flat or in an appropriate position, without pressing the brush head against a surface.
Do not leave brushes soaking in water: this can deform the hairs and weaken their attachment.
For what uses
This set is suitable for working on small characters, connecting strokes, outlines, fine botanical motifs, and details in an ink composition.
It can complement a larger brush: the main brush builds up masses and significant variations, while the fine tips are used for more precise areas.

🤍 Ikane workshop tip
Before a composition, draw a series of lines with light, medium, and then firmer pressure. This test helps check the tip's resilience and choose the brush that best matches the desired thickness.
