This set brings together five brushes of different sizes for Chinese calligraphy, ink drawing, sumi-e, and ink wash painting.
The weasel hair brushes combine flexibility and spring. Depending on their size and the pressure applied, they allow you to transition from a fine stroke to a wider line while maintaining a precise tip.
The five formats make it possible to adapt the amount of ink and the sweep of the movement to characters, details, or broader passages. The wooden box protects the brushes when they are perfectly dry.
INFORMATION
A small brush holds less ink but facilitates short, precise lines. A larger format holds more liquid and allows you to broaden the stroke or work on a larger area without reloading as often.
The hairs are of animal origin. This set is therefore not suitable for those looking for entirely synthetic or vegan brushes.

USE & CARE
Before first use, gently dampen the hairs with clear water then reshape the tip with your fingers.
Choose the brush size based on the desired stroke rather than forcing a small brush to cover a large area. Pressure, angle, and the amount of ink can then be used to vary the thickness.
After use, rinse until the water runs clear, gently remove excess moisture without twisting the hairs, then reshape the tip. Let dry flat or suspended before placing the brushes back in the box.
PAIR WITH
To compare ink reaction based on the paper's absorbency, use the artisanal Xuan paper , available in untreated, semi-treated, and treated varieties.
To prepare black ink by hand, pair the brushes with the 16 cm solid ink stick .
To dry the brushes upside down after rinsing, use the calligraphy brush holder .
