Round Goat Hair Brush for Watercolor and Washes – Art Secret 88GS (BRUSH ONLY)

The Art Secret 88GS brush features a round, tapered goat hair tip, designed to hold a generous amount of water and color. It is suitable for both washes and fine lines, depending on the chosen size and pressure applied.

Its flexible brush head naturally expands upon contact with paper and then returns to a point when the pressure is lightened. This allows for transitioning from a wet surface to a more precise detail with the same brush.

The range includes eight sizes, from No. 0 to No. 12. Small sizes are suitable for details and lines, while larger ones allow for backgrounds, gradients, and broader washes.

INFORMATION

Goat hair is valued for its flexibility and water retention capacity. It allows for applying diluted color gradually, without producing the rigid stroke of a firm synthetic brush.

The round and pointed shape allows for using the widest part of the brush head for washes, and then its tip for outlines, lines, and details.

USE & CARE

Fully wet the brush head before loading the brush with color. Gently remove excess water on the edge of the palette or on a cloth, without flattening the tip.

Use the belly of the brush to apply a wash or cover a surface. Gradually straighten the handle and lighten the pressure to finish the stroke with a finer line.

After use, rinse the bristles with clear water until all color is gone. Reshape the tip with your fingers, then let the brush dry flat or suspended, with the tip pointing downwards.

Do not leave the brush soaking in water for extended periods and do not store it wet in a closed case.

FOR WHOM

This brush is suitable for people looking for a flexible and absorbent brush head for watercolor. The choice of several sizes allows for gradually building an assortment suitable for details, intermediate formats, or large washes.

PAIR WITH

Pair this brush with Supervision watercolor pigments to work on washes, transparent layering, and dilution variations.

IKANE STUDIO TIP

Before first use, let the brush head absorb water for a few moments, then gently roll it on the palette to form a regular point. Avoid pressing the bristles directly against the bottom of the container.
