Set of 8 precision clay tools

This set includes eight aluminum tools for working on the details of a piece made of clay, air-dry clay, or other modeling materials.

The different profiles allow you to trace a line, refine an edge, clean a contour, make a shallow groove, or correct a small area without removing too much material.

Their lightweight design is best suited for precision and finishing stages, once the main volumes have already been built.

INFORMATION

These tools are used for localized work: grooves, contours, small indentations, details, and corrections around an already established form.

The consistency of the material greatly influences the result. Clay that is too soft will easily squash; slightly firmer clay holds lines and details better.

SPECIFICATIONS
  • Contents: 8 tools
  • Material: aluminum
  • Uses: tracing, light engraving, refining, cleaning contours, and correcting details
USE & CARE

Work with short, light strokes. To obtain a deeper or cleaner line, go over the same area gradually rather than pressing hard on the first pass.

If the material deforms around the tool, let it firm up before continuing. If it crumbles, it is likely already too dry for a clean edit.

Remove residue after use, rinse if necessary, and dry the tools thoroughly before storing.

PAIR WITH

To form, dig, and rework volumes before moving on to details, use the set of 6 modeling tools .

To smooth a small junction or soften marks without incising the material, supplement with the set of 5 silicone smoothing tools .

To clean an edge or remove a small excess with a more rigid tool, use the stainless steel clay finishing tool .

♥ IKANE WORKSHOP TIP

Test each profile first on a scrap piece of the same material. You will quickly see which one traces, digs, or smooths most cleanly and how much pressure to use before working on the actual piece.
