Dip Pen Ink – 30 ml

This 30 ml liquid ink is designed for use with a dip pen for writing, calligraphy, and ink drawing.

The nib is dipped directly into the bottle and recharged as you work. The width and density of the stroke vary depending on the shape of the nib, the amount of ink held, and the paper used.

Several colors are available for working on fine lines as well as contours, hatching, lettering, and illustration details.

INFORMATION

Dip only the functional part of the nib. An overloaded tip may release a large drop at the start of a stroke or produce an irregular line.

The paper directly affects the result: on absorbent surfaces, the ink will penetrate and spread more; on less porous surfaces, the contour generally remains sharper.

This ink is intended for use with dip pens. Do not pour it into a reservoir fountain pen without first verifying that the pen accepts this type of ink.

SPECIFICATIONS
  • Capacity: 30 ml
  • Type: ink for dip pens and pen holders
  • Uses: writing, calligraphy, ink drawing, contours, and hatching
USE & CARE

Dip the nib, remove the excess on the edge of the bottle, then make an initial stroke on a scrap of paper to check the flow.

Clean the nib with clear water after your session, before the ink dries in the slit or around the tip. Then, dry it thoroughly.

Close the bottle after use and store it upright, away from heat and direct light.

PAIR WITH

To compare ink spread based on paper treatment, use artisanal Xuan paper – untreated, semi-treated, or treated .

♥ IKANE STUDIO TIP

After dipping the nib, make a first stroke on a scrap of the same paper. If a drop forms at the start, remove more ink; if it stops too quickly, slightly recharge the tip.
