18ml UV Invisible Ink with Lamp
18 ml UV invisible ink with lamp
This ink allows you to trace, write, or draw a mark that is very discreet under normal light, and then reveal it under ultraviolet light using the included mini lamp.
It can be used to add hidden text, a mark, a graphic detail, or a second layer to a composition on paper.
The visibility of the stroke before revelation depends on the paper and the amount of ink applied. A preliminary test is therefore essential if you are looking for a truly discreet effect.
INFORMATION
Once dry, the ink remains very discreet under normal lighting. Under UV light, the applied areas become fluorescent and the stroke appears.
A thin layer generally leaves fewer visible marks than a thick deposit. On highly absorbent paper, the ink may also spread and widen the stroke.
SPECIFICATIONS
- Volume: 18 ml
- Revelation: under UV light
- Included accessory: mini UV lamp
- Application: dip pen, fine brush, or tool suitable for liquid ink
- Recommended surface: smooth or low-absorbency paper, after prior testing
FIRST USE
First, make a thin stroke on a scrap of the intended paper, then let it dry completely.
Then observe the stroke in normal light. If it remains too visible, reduce the amount of ink applied before proceeding with the final composition.
Dim the ambient light, then briefly illuminate the test with the UV lamp. Add a second layer only if the fluorescence lacks intensity.
Do not pour this ink into a fountain pen with a reservoir. Use a dip tool or a brush that can be cleaned immediately after use.
USE & SAFETY
Clean the pen or brush quickly after use to prevent the ink from drying on the tool.
Do not look directly at the UV source and do not point the lamp at the eyes. Keep the ink and lamp out of reach of young children.
Close the bottle after use and store it away from heat and direct light.
♥ IKANE STUDIO TIP
Make three strokes on a scrap piece with a thin, medium, and heavier layer. Once dry, compare them first without UV and then with the lamp: you will immediately know which amount provides the best balance between discretion and fluorescence.
