Solid watercolor palette – 12 or 24 colors
Solid watercolor palette – 12 or 24 colors
This solid watercolor palette is available in 12 or 24 colors for sketching, illustration, color studies, and washes.
The pans reactivate with a wet brush. The amount of water allows you to go from a rich, bold color to a very transparent wash, and then to gradually build up values through layering.
The 12-color format favors a compact selection and mixing, while the 24-color format offers more shades ready to use.
CHOOSING YOUR PALETTE
12 colors: for working with a reduced palette, learning to mix colors, and keeping the equipment you carry to a minimum.
24 colors: for having more shades available directly in the box and reducing the number of mixes needed during your session.
Both formats allow you to create additional shades by mixing colors on a separate palette rather than directly in the pans.

USE & CARE
Lightly moisten the pan with a clean brush, then gradually pick up the color. Add more water on a separate palette to prepare lighter washes.
To increase density, use less water or apply a new layer once the previous one has dried. Avoid overworking an area that is still damp if you want to keep your strokes clean.
Rinse your brush before changing colors to avoid mixing them directly in the pans.
After your session, let the pans dry before closing the palette so as not to trap moisture unnecessarily.

♥ IKANE STUDIO TIP
Take one color and prepare three swatches: one very diluted, one intermediate, and one denser. Let them dry side by side: you will immediately see how much that color can vary before you even start a drawing.
